This Quince has grown significantly in the 6 years since my dad delivered several soiless twigs to me for my garden. I love this Quince because I can remember it in the yard of my family before my parents divorced. I don’t remember a whole lot from those days, but I do remember this mild shrub. It then expanded through my high school college, and many years after that. It grew around a cement and steel sculpture that always looked to me like a standing one eared hare (a hare to me would be more lean than a rabbit). The ground around it grew cement like, which is why the delivery was in twig form. The sculpture is still there in my dad’s yard, as is the mother Quince. It now also lives in the back corner of my city garden, surviving and flourishing.
